A love song, a wedding gift, a romance with another culture, and a lament... Love and longing are the common threads found between the works of Aaron J. Kernis, Cesar Franck, Maurice Ravel and Kenji Bunch. Brought to life by violinist Kate Maloney and pianist Philip Chiu, these works - some old, some new - weave stories about desire, infatuation, fantasy, and yearning. 
Une chanson d'amour, un cadeau de mariage, une romance interculturelle... Tels sont les points communs qui relient les œuvres de Aaron J. Kernis, César Franck et Maurice Ravel. Interprétés par la violoniste Kate Maloney et le pianiste Philip Chiu, ces histoires tantôt anciennes tantôt nouvelles racontent le désir, l'engouement, la fantaisie et la nostalgie.

François Devienne, a French contemporary of Mozarts, was the first flute teacher of the Paris Conservatoire. He wrote some of the finest works for the flute of the Classical period. His flute sonatas are charming, graceful and brilliantly virtuosic.
François Devienne, un contemporain français de Mozart, était le premier professeur de flûte du Conservatoire de Paris. Ses oeuvres pour la flûte sont parmi les plus excellents de la période classique. Ses sonates pour la flûte et basse sont charmants, gracieuses et brillantes.

Come and celebrate an afternoon of folklore and storytelling for strings. Janacek's Podhaka is inspired by a Russian fairytale of love, sorrow, passion, adventure, and celebration. Ysaÿe's  3rd  Sonata for solo violin, dedicated to the great composer/instrumentalist Georges Enescu, travels the instrument top to bottom with an intense, inquisitive, and sometimes whimsical narrative. 
Venez célébrer une soirée de contes folkloriques pour des instruments à cordes. « Podhaka  »  de Janáček est inspiré d'une conte russe qui parle d'amour, de tristesse, de passion, d'aventure et de célébration. La Sonate n° 3 de Ysaÿe (« "dans le caractère populaire roumain ») est dédiée au compositeur Georges Enescu. Cette oeuvre fait la gamme de tout le violon, de haut en bas, avec un récit intense, curieux, et parfois fantaisiste.

Composers from the eighteenth, nineteenth, twentieth, and twenty-first centuries explore the emotive potential of the combined forces of violin and piano. Mozart, Dvorák, Kreisler, and Kepes each recognize the sonic possibilities of this potent mix and build upon the foundations their musical predecessors have laid.

Des compositeurs des XVIIIe, XIXe, XXe et XXIe siècles explorent le potentiel émotif des forces combinées du violon et du piano. Mozart, Dvorák, Kreisler et Kepes reconnaissent les possibilités sonores de ce  mélange puissant et ils réussissent à construire sur les fondations creusées par leurs prédécesseurs musicaux.
